The skate slit open the neck of a Connecticut high school hockey player this week, killing him.
During a private-school matchup Thursday night, Teddy Balkind
a 10th grader at St. Luke's School, was killed.
Balkind went down on the ice. Officials say a player nearby couldn't
stop in time and the two collided as he lay on the ground.
The game was immediately stopped and the young hockey player was
rushed to Greenwich Hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.
It was a game between Brunswick School, an all-boys prep school
and St. Luke's School, a co-ed private school in Greenwich.
